I am finally back into my sewing. The Friday Night Sew In inspired me to take some baby steps all this week to get my supplies back out & find a few minutes here & there to create some lovely (and useful) things for our new baby girl. My favourite is this super easy Onesie Dress made from a tutorial that I saw here on Prudent Baby. It is the first piece of clothing that I have made for my little angel & it made me super happy!!
I was almost tempted to wake her to try it on...but luckily, my wisdom prevailed & she is still sleeping soundly. I'll have to post a picture of her in the dress another time!
Another project that is both cute and useful: my own take on fitted cloth diapers. I used a combination of flannel for the outer, layers of terry cloth for the soaker inside, and a micro fleece lining to make these & I'm pretty happy with the results. I really like the gussets at the back & the around the legs...I think they look pretty pro for my first attempt!
The last FNSI project for this time around has already proven useful: A dry bag for diapers that are waiting to be laundered. I have made 2 of these so far, one big one for here at home & a smaller version to keep in the diaper bag for traveling. Each one is lined with plastic & has a zipper to keep everything neatly inside. I used the tutorial here at oh-nuh-uh and added a fabric loop for hanging the bags. I really love this fabric & so far the bags are working great.

Going to do my best to get back in front of one of my dear sewing machines by next Friday because it's time for the
If you sew, join in on the fun by stopping by Heidi's Blog & adding your name to the list.
I have been resting & taking care of our little one and loving every minute of her precious two weeks so far. Dear hubby has been taking care of everything else and he is still floating around here with more joy than I have ever seen. I can't wait to share more pictures & stories about this little angel once I am feeling a bit better.
